{Barates Aster}
Gender: Male
Orientation: Bi-Sexual
Age: 20
Occupation: Servant/Greek Slave
Disposition: Vain, Naive, Hardheaded, Loyal, Moody
{Relations}
[Love Interests]
"I-I'll even brave hippos for you."
{if you can manage to get to this point, kudos to you. Barates isn't easy to get along with when he puts his mind to it and can be difficult and sulky even with his friends. As a romantic interest? Chances are you'll be seeing spluttered words, false attempts at bravado and all around failure on Barates' part.
To get to this point, it takes perseverance, but in the long run, Barates will do whatever it takes to keep you safe, even if it means sacrificing his own well being to do so.}

[Friends]
"We're...we're friends, right?"
{congratulations! You've managed to make it past the Greek's surly barrier and are now considered a friend. Your rewards for this? The Greek man's undying loyalty and rather hard headed demeanor. Lucky you. Need a favor? He'll do it. Need a person offed? Er...well, he can at least mutter hateful words towards them for you.}
✔ -Set- ✔
One thing is for sure-however offsetting Set's lack of knowledge about the thing called a personal bubble is, Barates is interested at the very least. It could be the fact that out of the Egyptian gods, Set is his favorite-not that he'll tell that to the god's face. Well, either that or Set's ability to turn into a massive crocodile. In the end, both work in the god's favor. He might not worship the god, but if Set asks it, Barates will do him a favor-even if he might complain about it.
✔ -Nebet- ✔
Royals generally aren't Barates' cup of tea but he can't find himself hating the youngest princess. It could be the fact that she's small like a doll, or reminds him of own younger siblings at home. Whatever the reason, Barates is fond of the young girl, and though he won't admit it, he'll keep an eye out for her.
✔ -Bhae- ✔
Barates genuinely likes Bhae-even if her name is funny and he can hardly understand a word she says. The fact that she's also a foreigner in Egypt and doesn't seem to care that he's a slave? Well that certainly helps matters. Better yet, she's willing to answer his questions about her homeland and even able to deal with his babbling and in Barates book, well, that's always a plus. He'll gladly talk with her anytime, and even do her a favor if she asks.

[Allies]
"I might do you a favor. But what's in it for me?"
{It's easy enough to become Barates' ally. All you have to do is give him a morsel of information or a small lapse in freedom from the grueling life of a slave. Give him something in return, and he'll gladly serve you. But should you make a wrong move and go against him? Chances are he'll be praying for your demise by hippos each night before he goes to sleep.}
☆ -Nailah- ☆
So far, Barates thoughts on the princess are decent enough. She certainly seems to be the nicer of the two candidates as well as the one least likely to shove him in a wall, and in Barates' book, that's a definite plus.

[Neutral]
"You're not going to hit me, right?"
{The default position on Barates' spectrum of er...friendship, Barates doesn't really care whether you're alive or dead. Chances are you might have done something to make him nervous, but nothing too off putting. Know one thing-the moment you make a wrong move Barates will be cursing you with every shred of his little heart.}

[Enemies]
"See that river there? Jump in it."
{despite his surly disposition most of the time, this is a pretty tough place to land. It involves beating him, insulting him and making his life entirely miserable and then laughing in his face about it. That said, threatening his allies, friends or loved ones will certainly get you put in this category}

{Recent Activities}
-One of the many sailors sent to escort a Greek diplomat, Barates took the place of his best friend once the mission went awry when the angry Egyptians ordered Pythios to become a slave after he snuck into the Pharaoh's Harem.
-Still uneasy with the Egyptian language, Barates can understand it but cannot speak it without difficulties though he is working to rectify this.
-Hearing rumors of a Greek caravan stopping in the oasis, Barates snuck off to get information on his homeland and how his family is faring. But what's with this horse?
{Caravan From Afar [Barates]}
-Having finished up his chores early for once (even if it did involve bribery on his part), Barates has been glimpsed at the Nile where he has spotted the most marvelous beast known to man. Who knew crocodiles could get that large?
{An afternoon escape [Barates]}
-Assigned to guard duty, a bored Barates meets an unexpected visitor. Why is it that all of his chores end up being interrupted?
{Duty Interrupted [Nailah]}

{Birds of a Feather [Barates]}
-Waking up after pulling two all-nighters in a row is never fun. And now, he has to deal with the queen?! Perhaps Barates should have just slept in after all....
{The Better Part of Valour - OPEN}
{Plotting}
-Since he doesn't have many relationships with anybody yet, feel free to suggest things or toss in an idea or two :3
-He's not really looking for a love interest, as he's more keen on staying alive, but some romance might be nice later. If you've got an idea though, feel free to suggest it~ :'D
-He's naive to the point of stupid and hardheaded to match, so he's easy to manipulate (provided you can get his trust first)
-As a slave, his presence is often discarded, making him a valuable tool for information gathering.
-He's desperate for almost any news of his homeland and is most likely willing to do almost anything to hear about his friends/family from home
-He worships Greek gods but might be prone to helping out an Egyptian one. He has no real fondness for any (though he is somewhat attached to Set seeing as he's the patron god for foreigners), but is easy to trick at times.
-He has no specific Master yet and is more of a random palace slave, so perhaps someone wants to buy him?
-Convince him you've got a chance at giving him freedom and he'll likely eat your every word.
[spoiler=Past Activities (click to expand)]
-Barates has been recently spotted cleaning the kitchens and dining along with the other palace slaves. There he meets the young Princess Nebet. After having his picture drawn, the two part ways with a new friendship formed.
