clothing style: In his human form, Ra wears the traditional costume of Pharaoh. The collar about his neck is pure gold, striped with the brilliant blue of lapis lazuli encrusted with precious gems. The kilt-like garment is perfectly pleated and wrapped lightly in sheer linen, the same as that which makes his robes. Atop his head rests the doubled crown of upper and lower Egypt, and on his feet are leather sandals inlaid with yet more precious gems. While not entirely conceited, he maintains belief that pharaohs are to be examples of cleanliness and prosperity to the people they rule, and so he, too, exemplifies this.

overall appearance: As a god generally restricted to the heavens, it is not common that Ra appears as a man. His true appearance, even less seen than his mortal form, is that of a man with the head of a falcon, wearing all traditional wear as in human form except the crown, replaced by the sun disk, fronted by a hissing cobra. In this form he stands nearly eight feet tall. His eyes are gold, filled with knowledge and wisdom but also with a ferocity and authority no man would dare contest. It is this form, his godly form, which instills the most fear in mortals, and yet it is also sacred, shown only to those deemed worthy of his might and splendor.

His two most used forms are those of the falcon and the horse, horse being the most used of them all, as Ra generally admires the creatures for their own natural elegance and grace. Appearing as a chestnut Arabian stallion, he can sometimes be seen dancing among the desert’s sand dunes by traveling caravans as the sun reaches its peak. Those who’ve seen him claim that his coat shines as brightly as gold and burns more brilliantly than the rays of the sun, a golden body of fire gliding across the desert, an omen for some, a sign of good fortune for others. In any animal form he takes, there is always a splendor which seems matchless on the mortal earth, so that even the most common man can see it is an animal of gods.[/font][/size][/ul]

But, he is also compassionate, sensitive, and overall quite altruistic. He desires only the best for his followers, only demanding loyalty in exchange for his assistance. Not tolerant of traitors, of course, he won’t hesitate in dealing out punishment.

Ra is focused, deliberate, and he knows what he wants when he sees it. The problem is finding that something. Inside his stern, arrogant shell, he is quite the softie. He longs for charming evenings with someone special, to have someone who can know him now and forever, intimately, in the way humans do. He wants to feel and understand the sensations and feelings that come with human desire and fulfillment. He is also afraid and uncertain, often choosing duty over passion, responsibility over enjoyment, for he does not see what good would come of his physical and emotional desires being fulfilled, other than the possibility that he may stop occasionally snapping.
