I am actually a Southern Belle living in Southeast Georgia not far from historic Savannah, Georgia. Yes, the very same one General Sherman gave to president Lincoln as a Christmas gift in December 1864.

I am a history buff, as you might can tell, and I love all things historic from any era.

Egypt has always fascinated and bewildered me. I actually had the humbling privilege of meeting Dr. Zahi Hawass one time. He is a fascinating and intelligent man and, I am happy to say, very nice.

But I also love the Civil War, the Wild West, World War 2 and British history.

I am married to a sweet man and we have two grown sons and twin Grand-babies, a boy and a girl, who are a year old. But please do not think that I am a fuddy-duddy old woman. I am and have always been a free spirit whose trapped in a weak body.

I am a breast cancer survivor who's been in remission for 12 years.

Anyway, I love to write and have written a few stories on fanfiction.net. You are welcome to read them.

Thanks to all of you. I met Dr. Hawass one time but he was a fascinating man. Got to shake his hand and ask questions. He said there were thousands of burial sites he has yet to discover but that he was going to find as many as he could for as long as he could.

South Carolina, Barates? Excellent!! My father was from there and I still have family living in Clinton and Spartansburg. Spent many golden summers there visiting friends. The South shall rise again. LOL!!

Glad to be a part of this site. Looks like it has great potential for loads of fun. Looking forward to posting with everyone. :-D
