So with my fancy new staff position, I just finished reorganizing the forum to be bit tidier. n_n I hope everyone, particularly our dear admin, likes it~ I'm open to any input, of course, if you have a recommendation for where something should go.
Speaking of recommendations~! If anyone has an idea for a board/forum section, let me know and we can talk about it. As you guys can see, I added a Character Development section over in Plotting, and an Art section in Discussion. Anything like that, along with location ideas for the IC area of the forum, I would love to hear about~
And in other news! I'd really like to brainstorm some events for the forum to keep stuff happening besides the main plot. Along these lines, I'd be interested to hear of any Egyptian holidays/festivals you guys can find, as I have yet to look into them for myself. xD But having a festival or some such event IC would be fun, yeah~?
I excitedly await your input! <3

The boards look amazing I've been debating on holding a festival, but wasn't sure exactly what to do. XD We could just have a festival 'in honor of the gods' or something like that.

I found a site with ancient Egyptian holidays~it can be found here. It's got the holiday/festival's description as well as the date (via both Egyptian and Gregorian calendars) that it takes place~ It's got birthdays of the gods as well as major festivals honoring them-so its pretty cool Here is another site as well with a bit more detail on specific holidays. For Thebes in particular, the Beautiful Feast of the Opet seems pretty popular, though I don't think it became a as big deal until the 18th Dynasty/New Kingdom-ish. Also, apparently political festivals were fairly popular as well-perhaps to keep the Pharaoh/his family in good graces. Festivals were also thrown for each of the gods' birthdays, in particular Horus, Amun, Hathor as well as most of the other major deities. With Thebes' patron deity being Amun, I figure his birthday will be a particularly big deal~ Anywho, will add more sites that I come across :3 **edit: Found another site. It's not as detailed but it lists a few of the more important holidays as well as some of the reasoning behind them~ Also, it seems that the Ancient Egyptians also used festivals to celebrate major victories (ex. Ramses III held a festival to commemorate his defeat of the Libyans) so if the previous pharaoh defeated an army, chances are Nailah would want to commemorate that for her father's name~

Hmm...the birthdays in July would probably be a very lengthy celebration :'D But if I recall, Ra, Osiris, Set, Isis and Nepythys were some of the more important gods-and they're birthdays were typically the end of the ancient egyptain year (at least according to this) Apparently, those five gods' birthdays were the five 'extra' days of the year, or something like that. As such, I think that'd be one of the bigger celebrations~ :3 Also, fun fact-according to the site mentioned above, the festival commemorating their birthdays (at least of the 5 gods above) was also followed by the festival of drunkenness seen over by Bast XD
